Association of professionals, industrialists and merchants of the Aylmer sector

The Apica

About us

APICA celebrates its 40th anniversary of incorporation in 2020! Its mission is to stimulate and support the Aylmer business community to meet the challenges of socio-economic development in the region. APICA is recognized as a key organization representing the interests, issues and opportunities of the Aylmer business community.

As part of its 2017-2022 Strategic Development Plan, APICA has determined to:

  • ensure the satisfaction of its members
  • support them in their efforts to increase the visibility and promotion of their products and services
  • facilitate networking among members
  • to foster solidarity and strength within the Aylmer sector business community
  • to represent the interests of Aylmer’s business community to public agencies such as the City of Gatineau.

APICA is a social and professional network; for example, we organize happy hours at our members’ homes to allow the business community to discover the company. We also organize an annual golf tournament (in May) and will be offering new activities in 2020 as part of our 40th anniversary: 40 gourmet tables for the launch of the Old Aylmer Festival and a Celebration Evening in the fall.

APICA also organizes activities that bring the whole community together and offer festival-goers the opportunity to discover the businesses of Old Aylmer as well as our historical and cultural heritage: Le Vieux-Aylmer se sucre le bec (March) and the Festival du Vieux-Aylmer (August).

Finally, of the more than 120 APICA members, nearly 50% are located between Front Street and Belmont Street, while 40% are spread throughout the Aylmer sector and 10% in the Industrial Park. Of these 120+ members, 57% offer professional services to the general public and businesses, while 33% are businesses operating in the restaurant and food sectors and 20% are NPOs, institutions or political representatives (municipal, provincial and federal).

Business people, make sure you benefit from the services offered by APICA by visiting our website!
